THESE PRECAUTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED IN ORDER TO AVOID PERMANENT DAMAGE TO YOUR STAINLESS STEEL ARTICLES.
Flatware, knives and utensils ANDRÉ VERDIER and SCOF are manufactured with food proof materials and are dishwasher proof.
Nevertheless they request special care and attention when using them.
Unpack the articles and assure that they are in perfect state.
Hand wash them carefully with a soft sponge and a neutral and weakly alkaline cleaner.
Dry with a soft linen.
To keep their bright finish we recommend to hand wash the articles. .
NEVER USE chlorine, bleach, or abrasive sponge which would damage the steel.
LIMIT the use of detergent products because they are corrosive.
After use, rinse articles in clear water to evacuate substances susceptible to make the steel rust (salt, acid juices and materials like citrus fruits, tomato, vinegar…).
NEVER LEAVE articles with the prolonged contact of a liquid, for example several hours in the kitchen sink filled with water.
For dish-washer use :
Rinse products before placing them in the dishwasher’s basket .
Do not wash stainless steel articles and articles containing some gold or silver at the same time.
Use rather some washing powder without overdosing it and use rinsing liquid moderately. Add some salt only if the hardness of the water requires it. For the good use of these products, or all in one products, and the adjustment of your dish-washer, please refer to their instructions for use.
When there is ferrous metal in the dishwasher (damaged baskets, jar lids, tins, etc.) particles of rusts can settle on the steel parts of the stainless steel articles by a phenomenon of electrolysis. These superficial points of corrosion can be rubbed out with a gum or a special stainless cleaning product if they are not too important.
Dry articles from the end of the wash cycle.
For safety reasons and in order to keep the best cutting edge quality, always position knives blades downward.
The stainless steel used for sharp articles is loaded in carbon to guarantee the best cutting, but it requests a particular care.
It is imperative for sharp articles :
ALWAYS DRY the articles before storing them.
Store them in a DRY place.
The CARE OF USE are the same than for stainless steel articles to which we add :
Never leave articles with the prolonged contact of a heat source (burners, boiling water, edges of pan on heating source…)
If some of our wooden handle articles can pass in the dishwasher, we nevertheless advise , in order to prolong their life, to wash all wooden handle articles by hand and dry them quickly to avoid that the wood tarnishes, inflates or bursts.
